Through Hoplr you can easily organise and share neighbourhood activities via the website or app. You create an activity, choose category, date, title, description and optionally add photos, location and price. Activities appear in the neighbourhood calendar and can be made visible to surrounding neighbourhoods, which promotes social cohesion. Followers can set notifications to stay informed.
Through the digital neighbourhood network Hoplr you can quickly reach many neighbours to invite them to a neighbourhood activity or involve them in its organisation. (Register on Hoplr)
A neighbourhood calendar strengthens the community by informing residents about local events and activities. It promotes social cohesion and makes it easier to meet each other. Join in and contribute to a lively and connected neighbourhood!
Organise activities and inform your neighbours:
Via the website:
- Click at the top of the page on 'Calendar'.
- Click on 'Create new activity'.
- Choose the category under which your activity falls.
- Do you already have a date? Then choose a start and end date in the future. If you have no plans yet, leave the date open to gauge interest and availability among your neighbours.
- Give your activity a title.
- Describe your activity according to the Hoplr house rules.
- Add an image or file (e.g. flyer, guide):

Images: standard format is 1100x600 px. For text, take visible dimensions into account:
- Mobile app: 1080x500 px
- Mobile browsers: 750x600 px

Number & file size:
- Maximum 5 photos in the app.
- More photos via website, total max 15 MB.

Supported formats:
- Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG
- Other files: PDF, DOC(X), XLS(X)

Images: standard format is 1100x600 px. For text, take visible dimensions into account:
- Optionally add a location and price (leave out the currency symbol for price).
- Visibility: Tick to also make your activity visible in the neighbourhood calendars within 25 km. If you only want to reach your own neighbourhood, untick.
- Click on 'Post'.
Via the app:
- Tap bottom right on 'More' and choose 'Calendar'.
- Press 'Start a neighbourhood activity'.
- Choose the correct category for your activity.
- Do you have a date? Select start and end date (in the future). No date? Leave it open to gauge interest.
- Give your activity a title.
- Describe your activity according to the Hoplr house rules.
- Optionally add photos (max. 5, .png/.jpeg) and a location.
- Visibility: tick to show your activity also in surrounding neighbourhoods, otherwise only in your own neighbourhood.
- Click on 'Post activity'.
Your activity will automatically appear in the calendar.
How and where is my activity visible?
If you mark an activity as "visible" outside your neighbourhood, it will appear in the Calendar of surrounding neighbourhoods and in the neighbourhood feed of followers of your neighbourhood.
Do you want followers to receive an email or push notification? They must set this themselves. More info here.
Note: Non-followers do not see the activity in their neighbourhood feed and do not receive notifications, but can find the activity in the Calendar via distance filter.
