Why is my address visible on Hoplr?

Hoplr only uses your full address to correctly add you to the right neighbourhood, with only your street name visible to neighbours. Your house number and additions always remain private and are not visible to others. Privacy is strictly guaranteed.

Hoplr places great importance on your privacy. We use your address solely to add you to the correct neighbourhood and ensure that your sensitive data remains protected.

What is visible to your neighbours?

Only your street name is visible to other members of your Hoplr neighbourhood. By making the street name known, we increase trust and social cohesion in the neighbourhood.

What is not visible?

Your house number is never visible to your neighbours, nor to other users or organisations.

Why do we ask for the full address?

At registration, we need your full address, including house number, for two reasons:

  1. Correct neighbourhood determination: To determine with absolute certainty the correct geographical neighbourhood for you.
  2. Additions (Mailboxes, A/B): Because house number additions (such as "Mailbox 1", "58A", etc.) have no effect on privacy on Hoplr — your house number is not visible after all — we do not ask for these either and do not use them.

In short: Your address is used by Hoplr only for the technical assignment to the correct neighbourhood. Your privacy is always guaranteed.
