This article explains how you can get in touch with neighbours or people from surrounding neighbourhoods via the chat function, while your privacy is guaranteed: followers only see your neighbourhood name, not your street name. You can find all active conversations in your chat overview.
Who do you see in the neighbours list?
In the neighbours list of your neighbourhood, you see only the members of your own neighbourhood. These are the people who, like you, actually live there.
Privacy with respect to followers
In addition to neighbourhood members, people from surrounding neighbourhoods can also 'follow' your neighbourhood. Stricter privacy rules apply for them:
Followers see only your neighbourhood name on your profile, but never your street name.
Your street name is therefore always reserved for your direct neighbours.
How do you start a conversation?
Would you like to contact someone from another neighbourhood who has posted a message or advert, or who follows your neighbourhood? You can easily do so via the chat function:
Open the profile: Click on the profile name of the person you want to contact (for example, at the top of an advert).
Start the chat: Click on the 'Chat message' button (or 'Private chat') on their profile page.
Send your message: Type your message and click the arrow to send it.
Where can you find your conversations?
As soon as you have sent the first message, a conversation is created. You can find all your active chats in your chat overview (via the speech bubble icon). This way, you can easily find the conversation again at any time.
