How do I know if my chat message has been read?

When you send a private message to a neighbour via Hoplr, ticks indicate the status: one grey tick means the message has been delivered but not yet opened, two blue ticks mean the message has been read. Some neighbours do not check Hoplr daily, so it may take a while before a message is opened.

When you send a private message to a neighbour via the Hoplr chat, you can see the status by the ticks (check marks) under your message.

These are the meanings of the ticks:

  • One grey tick (✓): Your message has been successfully sent and delivered to the other person. The message has not yet been opened.

  • Two blue ticks (✓✓): The other person has opened the conversation and your message has been read.

Tip: Have you seen one grey tick for a while? Keep in mind that some neighbours do not check Hoplr daily. It can sometimes take a while before someone notices and opens your message.
