Hoplr makes it easy to post help requests for daily tasks, care, meals, or specific expertise in your neighbourhood. Via the app or website, you can quickly share a help request, choose the reach and category, and afterwards mark your message as resolved and thank neighbours.
Need help in the neighbourhood?
Are you looking for a helping hand for a task you can’t do yourself at the moment? Whether you are temporarily less mobile due to health reasons, or simply looking for someone with specific experience: the Hoplr neighbourhood is here for you.
Think, for example, of help with:
Daily tasks: Raising the blinds, walking the dog, or doing the shopping.
Care and meals: Cooking together or bringing a fresh meal.
Specific expertise: Such as a midwife, a tutor, or someone handy with technology.
Want to make a difference for someone else? You can of course also post a help request for someone else in your neighbourhood who is not on Hoplr themselves, such as an elderly neighbour. Together we make the neighbourhood more caring!
How to post a help request:
Via the app 📱
Start your message: Open the Hoplr app and tap the plus sign (+) at the bottom. Then choose the option 'Help request'.
Describe your request: Give your help request a clear title and explain in the description exactly what help you are looking for.

Choose your reach: * Followers: Tick 'Visibility' to also show your message to people who follow your neighbourhood (such as neighbours from surrounding districts).
External parties: Do you want local organisations (such as the municipality or a care institution) to see your request as well? Then tick 'Share with external parties'.

Add details: * Select up to two relevant categories to make your message easier to find (optional).
Optionally add a photo or attachment via the camera or paperclip icon for extra clarification.
Post: Tap 'Post message' to share your request with the neighbourhood.
Via the website 💻
- Log in at www.hoplr.com.
- Click the button at the top to create a new message and select ‘Help request’.
- Create your request and fill in a description.
- Do you want your message to also be visible to followers of your neighbourhood? Then tick the box at 'Visibility'.
- Choose up to two suitable categories for your help request. (optional)
- Optionally add a photo or attachment.
- 'Share with external parties': To make your help request visible to external parties, tick this box.
- Click 'Post message'.
- Your message has now been posted in your neighbourhood. Neighbours can easily start a private conversation via a button to offer help.
Have you received help?
- Mark your help request as 'Resolved' with the toggle under your message. This helps keep the neighbourhood feed clear.
- When you close your help request, you can thank your neighbours by clicking the 'Thank you' button. They will then receive a notification of your appreciation.
