How can I contact someone from another neighborhood?

This article explains how you can contact neighbors or people from surrounding neighborhoods via the chat function, while your privacy is protected: followers only see your neighborhood name, not your street name. You can find all active conversations in your chat overview.

Who do you see in the neighbor list?

In the neighbor list of your neighborhood, you see only the members of your own neighborhood. These are the people who, just like you, actually live there.

Privacy with respect to followers

In addition to neighborhood members, people from surrounding neighborhoods can also 'follow' your neighborhood. Stricter privacy rules apply to them:

  • Followers see on your profile only your neighborhood name, but never your street name.

  • Your street name is therefore always reserved for your direct neighbors.

How do you start a conversation?

Do you want to contact someone from another neighborhood who has posted a message or an ad, or who follows your neighborhood? You can easily do this via the chat function:

  1. Open the profile: Click on the profile name of the person you want to contact (for example, at the top of an ad).

  2. Start the chat: Click on the 'Chat message' button (or 'Private chat') on their profile page.

  3. Send your message: Type your message and click the arrow to send the message.

Where can you find your conversations?

As soon as you have sent the first message, a conversation is created. You can find all your active chats in your chat overview (via the speech bubble icon). This way, you can easily find the conversation again at any time.
