How do I start a group chat?

Would you like to start a group chat on Hoplr? First, check this article to see if a group chat is the best option. For the well-being of the neighbourhood, it's important that conversations take place in the main feed as much as possible, so that more neighbours can be involved.

If a group chat is the right choice, follow these steps to create one.

📱 Via the app

1. Open the Hoplr app and tap the speech bubble icon at the top.
2. Select 'New group'.
3. Enter a recognisable title for your group. This will be visible to all members.
4. Choose a colour for your group (optional).
5. Tap 'Next'.
6. Select the neighbours you want to add to the group chat:
   • Scroll through the list, or
   • Use the search bar to quickly find people by name or street.
7. Tap 'Next' once you've selected all members.

💻 Via the website

1. Click on the speech bubble icon in the top right corner and go to 'Chats'.
   
   
   
   
2. Select 'New group'.

5. Select the neighbours you want to add:

🗑️ How do I delete a sent message?

Do you want to delete a message you've sent? Follow these steps:

1. Hover over the message. A small arrow will appear.
   
   
   
   
2. Click the arrow and select 'Delete message'.
   
   
   
   
3. The message will be permanently deleted.
